We have just had our first day at this lovely resort. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room, facing the beach, could not be lovelier. There is a huge bathroom with a view of the garden. We are centrally located to the pool (they have a lap pool also), the swimming beach and bars and restaurants. There is a nice coffee/bakery shop in the main building. We have our own private beach right out side our door, and lovely patio furniture to enjoy the view on. We enjoyed lovely sunset drinks at the bar (excellent pina coladas). Lunch and dinner were excellent. Looking forward to the rest of our stay!

“ Beautiful Property But very Overpriced”

We stayed in the Hibiscus Suite, it was a very nice room, amazing ocean view, the accommodations were amazing I don't believe theres a better view! The beach was perfect.The staff was friendly and very professional when we checked in Toni Ann was amazing even though there was some issues for us she was great! Dean the bellman was great, he gave us a tour of the property and was very informative he is the man! The fitness center was great the staff was charming and delightful. The young lady at the front in the mornings was so charming, I wish I would have gotten her name:) Another great thing is the meal selection although pricey they have options for everyone, if you have a special diet they can meet your needs and the morning smoothies are so good.
My one complaint is that everything there is overpriced, food, drinks, everything we paid $4.50us for a small bag of chips and $15.00 for a 2oz contact solution. Also what they don't tell you is that you will have to leave a $1000.00 deposit for incidentals ( That was for 2 persons in the room) so make sure that you have money when you stay there you will need it. Otherwise it is a great place for a romantic, secluded getaway.
We stayed in the half moon villa, large and comfortable rooms, we had a person who always looked after us and cooked wonderfully Jamaican food the Sunset Beach Gazebo my favorite place to spend the day.
We went to dinner at the seagrape restaurant, food not really tasty no salt, no flavor, we had to send food back because it was cold when delivered to our table, burger usd $ 19; (No taste at all), really our Lady cook in the villa cooked much more tasty.
Recommended the horse ride, (very romantic) and the city of 8 rivers.
We enjoyed a very romantic resort and the staff is very affectionate, we felt relaxed, with the details half moon thanks.

“ Gorgeous Hotel, Food Not so Much”

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. They are a trip back in time to Jamaica's British colonial past. From the stately white columns flanking the grand entrance to the clusters of suites with patios or balconies on to a set of charming villas, the architecture throughout is imposing yet at the same time welcoming. The riot of flowers scattered throughout the lush, mature landscaping along with the white sand beach front easily lull one into a sense of romance to come.
My companion and I were both charmed and excited by the rush of visuals and the graciousness of the Front Desk and all other staff. When we were ready to dine on the terrace for breakfast, however, we were disappointed by the relative ordinariness of the modest buffet offerings and the price -- about $90 USD for two people. Add to that a very disappointing lunch consisting of a "chicken burger" and a "tuna burger" (both served with fries and an accompaniment of lettuce and sliced tomatoes) in order to reduce our overall meal cost (still about $50 USD), we concluded our brief stay wondering if we would ever return.
All in all, Half Moon Hotel is stunning on visuals and service, but perhaps more attention to serving a cuisine up to the standard of the setting at a fair market price would be well worth consideration by the hotel management. If we knew improvements in the menu, preparation and cost were made, we would gladly go back.

I have taken my 3 children to Half Moon for our summer vacations, with my most recent stay being our 6th time here. Although we have many hotel choices to stay in Jamaica, we always choose the Half Moon for its most hospitable, warm staff, beautiful accommodations, and unrivaled, personalized service, which leaves no detail of comfort or pampering unfulfilled. Shernette Crichton is always my first point of contact as she always helps to plan our stay, and greets us personally after we arrive. Michelle and Teshia, our very kind and gracious beach servers, treat my children with an extra special caring touch, while pampering me with whatever I need to make my stay absolutely perfect. Christine at the tour desk is always there to help us plan the most exciting adventures and excursions all over the beautiful island. She also helps to make our arrivals and departures run seamlessly as she organizes our airport transfers. There is always a wide selection of deliciously prepared food to enjoy and a varied selection of delicious restaurants from casual to fine dining at all times of day. The most thoughtful staff of Bellmen are very attentive and gracious, as they help to get us settled in on arrival, drive us in their golf
carts to various spots at the hotel, and of course, help us pack up on our sad days of departure. Half Moon is not just our most favorite vacation spot. Half Moon is quite literally our home away from home, as we continue to develop and grow old and new friendships with the Half Moon guests and hotel staff, who have watched my children grow over the years, and helped to provide our family with the most cherished vacation memories. Each and every bartender at Half Moon serves with a genuine smile and spirit, as they prepare the most refreshing tropical treats to drink, and always make us laugh and smile. I want to thank each and every Half Moon staff member, who always remembers my family with fondness, and treats us so special. like Half Moon family. I am happy to give the highest praises to the Half Moon. I highly recommend it to the most discerning travelers. No doubt you will enjoy the most special memories as our family always does!
